If you are using Microsoft Outlook as your email client, you should use the default Microsoft 365 Account type. Microsoft 365 also provides direct access to the USC calendar that is a part of your Office 365 account. Microsoft 365 only requires that you provide your email address and password for set up IMAP, however, requires additional server information. There are several advantages to setting up your email client to use “Microsoft 365”, “Office 365”, or “Exchange” rather than IMAP settings. ![]() If you are using an email client other than Outlook and Microsoft 365 or Office 365 is not a setup option, we recommend selecting the Exchange setup option and only using the IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) option if there is no other choice. When configuring your email client to work with your USC mailbox, we recommend selecting the Microsoft 365 setup wizard (choose when setting up Outlook). 1/17/2024 0 Comments Stock market news live stream![]() The COMPRESSION clause sets the compression method for the column. If not specified, the column data type's default collation is used. The COLLATE clause assigns a collation to the column (which must be of a collatable data type). For more information on the data types supported by PostgreSQL, refer to Chapter 8. The name of a column to be created in the new table. But the CREATE TABLE command can add defaults and constraints to the table and can specify storage parameters. When a typed table is created, then the data types of the columns are determined by the underlying composite type and are not specified by the CREATE TABLE command. A typed table is tied to its type for example the table will be dropped if the type is dropped (with DROP TYPE. OF type_nameĬreates a typed table, which takes its structure from the specified composite type (name optionally schema-qualified). The name (optionally schema-qualified) of the table to be created. Note that there is no guarantee that the existing relation is anything like the one that would have been created. IF NOT EXISTSĭo not throw an error if a relation with the same name already exists. If this is specified, any sequences created together with the unlogged table (for identity or serial columns) are also created as unlogged. Any indexes created on an unlogged table are automatically unlogged as well. The contents of an unlogged table are also not replicated to standby servers. However, they are not crash-safe: an unlogged table is automatically truncated after a crash or unclean shutdown. Data written to unlogged tables is not written to the write-ahead log (see Chapter 30), which makes them considerably faster than ordinary tables. If specified, the table is created as an unlogged table. This presently makes no difference in PostgreSQL and is deprecated see Compatibility below. Optionally, GLOBAL or LOCAL can be written before TEMPORARY or TEMP. For example, if a temporary table is going to be used in complex queries, it is wise to run ANALYZE on the temporary table after it is populated. For this reason, appropriate vacuum and analyze operations should be performed via session SQL commands. The autovacuum daemon cannot access and therefore cannot vacuum or analyze temporary tables. Any indexes created on a temporary table are automatically temporary as well. The default search_path includes the temporary schema first and so identically named existing permanent tables are not chosen for new plans while the temporary table exists, unless they are referenced with schema-qualified names. Temporary tables are automatically dropped at the end of a session, or optionally at the end of the current transaction (see ON COMMIT below). If specified, the table is created as a temporary table. To be able to create a table, you must have USAGE privilege on all column types or the type in the OF clause, respectively. Every column constraint can also be written as a table constraint a column constraint is only a notational convenience for use when the constraint only affects one column. A table constraint definition is not tied to a particular column, and it can encompass more than one column. ![]() ![]() A column constraint is defined as part of a column definition. There are two ways to define constraints: table constraints and column constraints. A constraint is an SQL object that helps define the set of valid values in the table in various ways. The optional constraint clauses specify constraints (tests) that new or updated rows must satisfy for an insert or update operation to succeed. Therefore, tables cannot have the same name as any existing data type in the same schema. The name of the table must be distinct from the name of any other relation (table, sequence, index, view, materialized view, or foreign table) in the same schema.ĬREATE TABLE also automatically creates a data type that represents the composite type corresponding to one row of the table. Temporary tables exist in a special schema, so a schema name cannot be given when creating a temporary table. Otherwise it is created in the current schema. ) then the table is created in the specified schema. If a schema name is given (for example, CREATE TABLE myschema.mytable. The table will be owned by the user issuing the command. ![]() CREATE ĬREATE TABLE will create a new, initially empty table in the current database. ![]() 1/17/2024 0 Comments Smoking shatter in a bowl![]() ![]() Terpenoids add flavour that makes the shatter more pleasant and more soothing when inhaled. The high heat brings out more of the terpenoids in the shatter. Vaping produces a more substantial effect than regular smoking. When the shatter gets to a high temperature, it turns into vapour. Heat the shatter by pressing the heating button on your vape. Get a small piece of shatter and place it on the heating chamber of your vaporizer. It is also easier and safer compared to using a bong or smoking a joint. Vaping enhances the utilization of the concentrate and produces a stronger buzz. The best way to enjoy cannabis concentrates is by using vaporizers. But, a vaporizing pen does not produce smoke. It all depends on the temperature to which you are subjecting your weed. ![]() Whenever you vaporize or vape weed, you inhale smoke or vape. Remember to use only a small amount of shatter and more weed to avoid an overwhelming high. ![]() It is convenient, and users report having an incredible high after only a few minutes. Smoking using a pipe or bong is an easy and fantastic way to enjoy shatter. If there is still any weed left on your bowl, save it for later. Take one hit at a time and stop once you get to your high limits. It hits more powerfully than regular weed, and you need to be careful with it. The combination of weed and shatter produces smoke with a high THC concentration. In this case, ensure that you only add small bits of the shatter. Once you have laid out the weed and the shatter on top of it, light up the bowl and inhale the smoke. If you fail to add the weed, the shatter melts, rather than smoke, and settles on the bottom of your bowl, damaging it. Just like when smoking it in a joint, this method involves using marijuana buds between the bowl’s surface and the shatter bits. You may also add some shatter to the bowl of your pipe and bong. Some part of it is wasted among the weed ashes. The disadvantage of smoking shatter in a joint is that it does not allow all the shatter to burn completely. Listen to how your body feels, and when you feel high enough, put your joint aside and save it for later. Take a puff and rest a bit before you take the next. ![]() Since the joint will be stronger than your regular joint, take your time smoking it. By using small amounts, you also avoid making your joint overwhelmingly potent. It is best to add only small bits of shatter. You will get a high that’s not easy to forget. The combination of weed and shatter increases the potency of your joint. Put your regular ground weed on some rolling paper and add some shatter on top of the weed. Your choice of smoking method will also depend on the smoking tools available to you.Īmong the simplest ways to smoke your shatter is by rolling it up in your regular joint. Also, some methods have less wastage than others. It is only that some methods can give you the optimal experience sooner than others. If you want to smoke shatter, there is no right or wrong way to do it. Its effects could take even the most experienced weed smokers off guard. Due to this high concentration, stoners are advised to stick to only small bits of it at a time. Shatter comes in various strains and concentrations, but all of them are stronger than regular weed. The result is a glass-like substance that users can vape, dab, or add to their regular weed in a joint or bowl. Shatter is made by extracting THC from weed buds using a solvent and presenting it in a potent and compact form. Also, they come in different forms, including shatter, hash, budder, live resin, and THC distillate. Concentrates have a higher chemical profile and are thus more potent compared to the average cannabis buds. It’s no wonder why so many choose to smoke shatter.Ĭannabis concentrates are the high concentration cannabinoids or terpenes extracted from the cannabis plant using a solvent. Shatter is the translucent or transparent concentrate that resembles a Jolly Rancher of some rock candy. Shatter is the choice concentrate for cannabis users who want something stronger than the buds but not as overpowering as the edibles. ![]() 1/17/2024 0 Comments Girl on horse sketch![]() ![]() Everything I learned I brought home to practice, practice and practice. “COVID shut us down after a few times but I learned a lot from listening to Dave and watching what he did so effortlessly. Prior to COVID, an artist friend, Astrid Rankin, convinced him to attend a painting group hosted by Pictou artist Dave MacIntosh. With drawing you are working in greys only, so I have so much to learn about painting.” “For whatever reason, watercolours did not interest me, pastels were just OK, but I am enjoying oil painting. In recent years, he has turned his hand to oil painting, something he only dabbled with 15 years previously. I love the character lines, the way the light and shadows fall on their faces.” Artist James Fraser approached a local homeless man and asked permission to draw him, partly because he found his face interesting and partly because he wanted to experiment with drawing his beard. “The faces of fishermen and farmers, people who spent their years working outside, those faces have stories ingrained in them. Rosalie MacEachernįraser, who accepts commissions for a variety of work, still enjoys drawing elderly faces. Better the grant went to someone who really needed it.” Inspired by a Shaun Whalen photograph of a Great Blue Heron, Fraser painted the majestic bird, capturing the way the light danced off its wings, creating various shades of blue. “I realized I didn’t need the grant because I got to do what I wanted. He did not bother reapplying for the arts grant. Working from my impressions and her photographs, I drew all six very different faces.” She had a wonderful way of getting them to talk and I watched how their faces changed as they spoke. I got my friend Lacey Morrell, who is an amazing photographer, to take their photos. “I met with them and got to know them a little. ![]() Eventually, he drew six of the veterans, all now deceased. They were residents of the veterans’ wing at Sutherland Harris Memorial in Pictou and after talking to the administrator, Fraser expressed his interest in doing their portraits. The gentleman who called seemed to be making a point about my lack of formal training, but he also said nobody gets accepted on the first application.” A still life painting which Fraser values more for the learning it represents than its image. “I didn’t get the grant, but I did get a phone call that I found both encouraging and discouraging. Rosalie MacEachernĪt the urging of a friend, Fraser once applied to a provincial arts organization for a grant to draw a collection of elderly people. Fraser was attracted to the original photograph by the details of the girl’s hair and dress. In a young person, that’s generally not too difficult but in an older person, it is much more challenging.” James Fraser’s pencil drawing of a serious young girl in an elaborate dress. “You have to get the eyes, the nose, the lips, the shape of the face and the hair right. I guess I didn’t have the right personality to be a student at the time and I haven’t changed that much, though I certainly learn from others.”įraser has always enjoyed the challenges of portraiture. I can see some merit in that today, but I was just a young guy who loved to draw and I wanted to do it my way. “I was told my work was good but instructors would have to strip it down and teach me proper methods and techniques. “Drawing pencils, sketch pads, oil paints, it was all new to me, but it was a fantastic sight,” he said.Ī few years later, a teacher who was convinced he had talent, arranged for Fraser to show samples of his work to the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, with a view to enrolling. Then he told me about a shop downtown where you could buy art supplies.”Ī few days later, Fraser paid his first visit to a stationary shop, HL White. He couldn’t get the faces right, so he asked me to try Boy George. “I think the business was called Weekends and he was drawing Boy George and Michael Jackson on mirrors. ![]() Rosalie MacEachernĪs he got older, he knew a young guy who had a job drawing on mirrors at a small shop in the Highland Square Mall. Fraser says one of the challenges for local artists is finding models and he sometimes has to purchase online images. James Fraser’s portrait of an elderly woman staring into eternity is a work in progress. “My older brothers were into rock and roll music and I used to take the white sleeves from inside album covers and draw on every inch of them,” he said. There were no memorable art pieces in his childhood home, nor was there any supply of drawing materials and even unlined paper was scarce, but he covered scraps of paper, scribblers and textbooks with faces and figures. ![]() 1/17/2024 0 Comments Showtime anytime login pc![]() ![]() The user can restart the network router if he or she is having trouble connecting to the network. Both the screens are touch-screen and support stylus input. The ScreenPad plus uses an IPS panel that also looks vibrant, but it has a matte finish designed to reduce the glare, making the screen look duller than the main screen. That said, it was smooth, responsive and doubled up as a virtual number pad. The second screen also eats into the keyboard space, and your wrists are automatically forced onto your desk when typing.Īsus has, however, included a wrist rest, so it does at least go some way into making typing on this machine a more comfortable experience. That’s because of the side-by-side placement of the keyboard and trackpad, meaning you don’t get a full-sized keyboard. The keyboard is backlit and has plenty of travel, but the keyboard feels cramped. Still, you do get a lot of computing power for your money. The ZenBook pro duo 15 OLED UX582 is an expensive machine coming in at around £2,999. However, brands such as Lenovo and HP are starting to understand the desire for dual screens and taking tentative steps to produce their own models, such as the Lenovo ThinkBook plus and HP omen 2xs. And while dual-screen laptops remain in the minority, Asus is absolutely dominating the sector. Plus, they can be difficult to use anywhere but on a desk.Īsus has been producing dual-screen laptops since 2019 when it launched the first generation of ZenBook duo and ZenBook duo pro. It does not affect the product lifespan or have any permanent effects on the display. But whilst dual-screen laptops have a massive appeal, they can also have some serious drawbacks, such as a smaller keyboard and a higher price tag. This is expected behavior, and only occurs during facial recognition. While the LED is illuminated, you may see a temporary small 'ripple' effect at the top of your OLED display.
![]() ![]() The findings also add to the idea that the brain evolved to be particularly sensitive to "bad guys" or cheaters-fellow humans who undermine social life by deception, theft or other non-cooperative behavior. ![]() The study contributes to a body of work showing that far from being objective, human perceptions are shaped by unconscious brain processes that determine what they "choose" to see or ignore-even before they become aware of it. Ī new study finds that, all other things being equal, people are more likely to pay attention to faces that have been associated with negative gossip than those with neutral or positive associations. The degree of self-efficacy describes whether a person is convinced that it is possible to convey the intended impression. This refers to the content of an assertion, which also leads to distinct ways of presentation of aspects of the self. A person's goals are another factor governing the ways and strategies of impression management. The actions have to be appropriate to the targets, and within that culture, so that the kind of audience as well as the relation to the audience influences the way impression management is realized. Specifically, the surrounding cultural norms determine the appropriateness of particular nonverbal behaviours. Furthermore, the characteristics of a given social situation are important. Logically, the awareness of being a potential subject of monitoring is also crucial. It can be stated that impression management becomes necessary whenever there exists a kind of social situation, whether real or imaginary. Theory Motives Ī range of factors that govern impression management can be identified. Goffman "proposed to focus on how people in daily work situations present themselves and, in so doing, what they are doing to others", and he was "particularly interested in how a person guides and controls how others form an impression of them and what a person may or may not do while performing before them". In other words, the theory is about how individuals wish to present themselves, but in a way that satisfies their needs and goals. Impression management theory states that one tries to alter one's perception according to one's goals. The foundation and the defining principles of impression management were created by Erving Goffman in The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life. ![]() The concept of impression management is applicable to academic fields of study such as psychology and sociology as well as practical fields such as corporate communication and media. The notion of impression management was first applied to face-to-face communication, but then was expanded to apply to computer-mediated communication. Impression management is usually used synonymously with self-presentation, in which a person tries to influence the perception of their image. Impression management can be used with either benevolent or malicious intent. Impression management is possible in nearly any situation, such as in sports (wearing flashy clothes or trying to impress fans with their skills), or on social media (only sharing positive posts). By utilizing such behaviors, those who partake in impression management are able to control others' perception of them or events pertaining to them. ![]() Impression management behaviors include accounts (providing "explanations for a negative event to escape disapproval"), excuses (denying "responsibility for negative outcomes"), and opinion conformity ("speak(ing) or behav(ing) in ways consistent with the target"), along with many others. It was first conceptualized by Erving Goffman in 1959 in The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life, and then was expanded upon in 1967. Impression management is a conscious or subconscious process in which people attempt to influence the perceptions of other people about a person, object or event by regulating and controlling information in social interaction.
